I hold a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Subtitling and Audio Description from the University of Surrey, UK, through which I gained experience working with feature films, documentaries, television series, comedy and children’s programmes.

subtitling

Working at BBC Global News in London, I produced closed captions in English for 10+ programmes a week with under 3 hours turnaround for BBC World News America and BBC World News Japan using speech recognition software. This included factual and documentary programmes HARDtalk, Panorama, Dateline London, Newsnight, Our World, Talking Business, Intelligence Squared Debate, India Business Report, the technology show Click, The Travel Show as well as the Queen's Christmas Broadcast. All captions were created by respeaking, using Swift subtitling software and Dragon Naturally Speaking speech recognition software.

I oversaw the in-house Japanese translation studio, which broadcasted live to BBC World News Japan. Additionally, my duties included file versioning and quality checking for Netflix and Hulu, generating monthly billings reporters and training new team members.
