While working for BBC Global News, I created live subtitles using speech recognition software. This process is called "respeaking".

Live subtitling is the most challenging form of subtitling, as it requires simultaneous respeaking through speech recognition software, and quality checking the output text. It requires listening to the speaker in real-time and retaining the information, while at the same time creating the subtitle with minimum lag and delay. As such, this work requires training and advanced preparation before going live on air.
Working as a freelancer, I provided consultations to an international subtitling company on how to best set up their live subtitling studio. This involved guiding them through the live subtitling process and how it works, as well as the optimum software and hardware setup that best suited their needs.

I created English closed captions for NDACA films. The National Disability Arts Collection & Archive UK is a disability-led arts organisation which provides opportunities and support for disabled artists to build a more inclusive and representative cultural sector.
The captioned interviews are with some of the voices who shaped the Disability Arts Movement, they tell stories of their fights to remove barriers, gain civil rights and make great artworks within an inclusive disability culture.
